(Quinte West, ON)- Yesterday morning at 4:30 a.m. officers with the Napanee detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a report of a two vehicle collision on the Highway 401 eastbound off ramp to the Trenton ONroute.
A vehicle exiting Hwy 401 struck the back of a transport that was parked on the shoulder of the ramp. The vehicle was wedged under the tractor trailer.
Fire Services and ambulance attended the scene. The female driver of the car was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver has been identified as 48 year-old Andra BRICKELL of Ottawa.
The driver of the parked tractor trailer has been charged with Disobeying a Sign contrary to Section 182(2) of the Highway Traffic Act.
