(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County Detachment is investigating after a body was located near the roadway at a Mississauga Road, Mississauga’s of the New Credit First Nation address.
On Sunday October 2, 2016 at approximately 4:30 a.m., OPP, Haldimand County Fire Services and Haldimand County Paramedics responded to Mississauga Road for a report of a body that was located near the roadway. Witnesses reported that the body appeared to be deceased.
OPP investigation has determined that a male had suffered life threatening injuries and was later pronounced deceased by the attending coroner.
The deceased male has been identified as 29-year-old Wade HENHAWK of Six Nations of the Grand River First Nation.
The driver of the vehicle was cooperative with police during the investigation.
The weather and fog are being considered as contributing factors.
