(CRAMAHE TWP, ON) -On April 5, 2017 at 5:44am the Northumberland detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a single motor vehicle collision on County Road 21 near Shiloh Road. Upon arrival, officers located one male deceased in a nearby wooded area. That male has been identified as the driver of the car, a black Chevrolet Cobalt, involved in the collision. No other vehicles were involved.
As a result of the two locations and circumstances involved, the Northumberland Crime Unit has taken over the investigation with the assistance of Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) and detachment officers.
County Road 21 was closed to traffic for approximately five hours to allow for the investigation and ensure the safety of the public and officers at the scene.
Police have no concerns for public safety in this ongoing investigation.
