(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On May 21, 2016, at 2:27 p.m., members of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a traffic complaint of a vehicle that was all over the road and tailgating on Oastler Park Drive in Parry Sound. The vehicle was located on James Street and a traffic stop was initiated. The officer determined that the driver had consumed alcohol.
As a result of the officer’s investigation, Deborah MARKS, 61 years of age from Toronto, was arrested and charged with:
Driving while ability impaired – motor vehicle (alcohol) contrary to the Criminal Code (CC).
Driving with over 80 mgs of alcohol in blood contrary to the Criminal Code (CC).
The accused will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound, on June 16, 2016 to answer to her charges.
The OPP are reminding motorists that there is no safe amount of alcohol consumption when driving. Anyone who suspects a driver is driving while impaired is urged to call police by dialing 9-1-1 immediately.
