(MANITOUWADGE, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) North West Region Forensic Identification Unit and OPP Crime Unit personnel under the direction of Detective Inspector Peter Loree of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) have re-opened the investigation into the death of 15-year-old Catherine Elizabeth GOWAN. The victim was located in a residence on Adjala Avenue in Manitouwadge on July 8, 1990 and foul play was not suspected at that time.
As a result of information received by police, the matter is now being investigated as a homicide.
