(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment responded to an incident at an Erie Street, Long Point, Norfolk County, Ontario address.
On Friday, August 19, 2016 at approximately 8:38 p.m., police were contacted by the Park Wardens at the Long Point Provincial Park after a deceased dog was located.
Through the course of investigation, it was determined that on Friday, August 19, 2016 at approximately 7:00 p.m., a pillow case had been observed floating in Lake Erie near the shoreline of the beach by a concerned citizen that had been camping at the park. It was subsequently removed from water at which time park wardens were contacted.
As a result, it was determined that a deceased dog was located inside the pillow case described as white and brown in colour. The deceased animal was described as a medium sized dog with reddish/brown coloured hair.
Investigators from the Norfolk County OPP Detachment are continuing to investigate and are seeking the public’s assistance with this investigation. If anyone has any information, they are being asked to contact the Norfolk County OPP Detachment at 1-888-310-1122.
The OPP want to remind all residents that if they see anything suspicious to please contact the police immediately.
