(TOWNSHIP OF CHATSWORTH, ON) – On Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at approximately 6:09 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a day time break-in to a residence on Grey Rd. 3 in the Township of Chatsworth.
Sometime between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on August 12th, someone had entered the residence through an unlocked front door and removed jewelry and cash from the master bedroom. The total value of the stolen goods was estimated at $1500.
A resident in the area of the break-in reported that a female in her late fifties, with short brown hair, had knocked on their door and, when answered, stated she was looking for work doing odd jobs. The witness noticed that the female was accompanied by an unknown male waiting in a brown coloured car at the end of the laneway.
Grey County OPP urge residents to keep all windows and doors to their homes and their vehicles locked, even during short absences and to report any suspicious persons or vehicles to police by contacting their local police service or the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
