(PEMBROKE, ON) – On July 23, 2015 members of the Upper Ottawa Valley Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended a residence in the City of Pembroke to ensure a man was abiding by the conditions of his probation. Officers attempted to arrest the man after he was found to be under the influence of alcohol contrary to his probation order. The man assaulted police and fled his residence. Police quickly tracked the man down to a neighbouring residence where he was taken into custody without further incident. As a result David Scott FITZGERALD, age 38 of Pembroke, is charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
· Assault Peace Officer
· Escape Lawful Custody
· Fail to Comply with Probation Order – 2 counts
FITZGERALD was held for a bail hearing.
