(SPRINGWATER TOWNSHIP, ON) – On Monday August 19, 2013, just before midnight, an officer from the Barrie Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting speed enforcement in the area of Highway 400, south of Forbes Road. The officer observed a silver BMW travelling on Highway 400 at a high rate of speed and determined that the driver was operating the vehicle at 190 km/hr in a posted 100 km/hr. zone.
As a result of the traffic stop, David S. SZELLOS, 46 of Toronto was charged with Race a Motor Vehicle, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
The vehicle was impounded for seven days as a result of the stunt driving charge.
The driver is scheduled to appear at the Barrie Provincial Offences Court in October with respect to this matter.
