David MOWATT – Drunk Driving

(NORTH BAY, ON) – At approximately 7:16 p.m., on June 4, 2018, officers from the North Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a traffic complaint of a vehicle on Highway 11 in the City of North Bay, Ontario, that was weaving all over the road.

Officers located the vehicle in the City of North Bay, Ontario, and stopped it for a sobriety check. After speaking with the driver, officers conducted a road side screening test for alcohol. The result was a fail and the driver was arrested and brought to the North Bay OPP Detachment for further tests.

As a result of the police investigation, David MOWATT, age 66, of Armour Township, Ontario, has been charged with:

Driving while ability impaired by alcohol contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC), and

Driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the CC.

The accused was issued a 90 day Automatic Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

He was released on a Promise to Appear (PTA) and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay, Ontario, on June 19, 2018.
