(TOWN OF PENETANGUISHENE, ON) – On December 3, 2016 at 8:10 p.m. officers from the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial police (OPP) were conducting a RIDE check at Robert Street West and Lafontaine Road in the Town of Penetanguishene, ON.
A brown GMC Jimmy approached the RIDE check. Upon speaking to the male driver, an officer detected a smell of marihuana. As a result of further investigation, officers located a small quantity of marihuana in the motor vehicle.
The male driver, David James BROWN (age 60yrs) of Wasaga Beach, Ontario has been charged with:
Possession of a schedule II substance – Cannabis Marihuana – under 30 grams contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on January 5, 2017 in Midland, ON.
