(SMITHS FALLS, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Child Sexual Exploitation Unit and Smiths Falls Police Service have charged a Smiths Falls man following a child pornography investigation.
On November 6, 2012, police executed a search warrant at a Smiths Falls residence. As a result of this investigation, one computer was seized containing images of child sexual abuse.
Police have charged David COVELL, aged 37 years, of Smiths Falls, Ontario with the following charges:
Possession of Child Pornography (two counts)
Make Child Pornography Available
Accessing Child Pornography
Possession of a Controlled Substance
Fail to Comply with Probation Order (two counts)
The accused was held in custody. He is scheduled to appear today, November 7, 2012 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth.
The investigation is continuing.
