Danielle SPINKS – Drive While Suspended, Drugs, etc

(PORT HOPE, ON) – On Friday March 14, 2014 a Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was on general patrol on County Road 28 in the Municipality of Port Hope when he observed a female operating a vehicle with a yellow dealer plate that he believed was not in compliance with the Highway Traffic Act.

At approximately 3:58 pm on Friday, the officer stopped a 1993 Oldsmobile northbound on County Road 28 north of Dale Road for having a yellow dealer plate on the vehicle. The officer investigated the lone female driver of the Oldsmobile and determined that she was neither an authorized vehicle dealer nor mechanic conducting a test drive. Also during the investigation, the officer found that she was in possession of a prescription drug not issued to her for medical reasons. She was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

A check on the female’s drivers licence status also determined she was suspended from driving.

Danielle SPINKS, 37 from Port Hope, Ontario was served an appearance notice for the offence of possession of a Schedule 1 substance under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. She was also served summonses for driving while under suspension, use plate not in accordance with section or Act and failing to surrender or produce a driver’s licence under the Highway Traffic Act.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on Wednesday April 16, 2014 at 9:30 am in Cobourg.
