(BRUCE TWP, ON) – On May 18th, 2011 at 6:30 pm, a West Region OPP Highway Safety Officer was on patrol along Highway 21 in the hamlet of Underwood when a north bound pickup truck was observed travelling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle speed was locked at 92 km/h in a posted 60 km/h zone. The truck was stopped north of Underwood and the officer found that the driver had been drinking alcohol. 43 year old Daniel VAN NINHUYS of Brights Grove has been charged with Impaired operation, Refuse breath sample, Speeding and Operate motor vehicle with open alcohol. He is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court on June 20th, 2011 to answer to the charges.
