(TOWN OF ERIN, ON) – On March 9, 2017 at approximately 9:51 p.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a single motor vehicle collision on Mill Street in the Town of Erin, County of Wellington.
Police arrived at the scene and spoke with the male driver. While speaking with the driver officers detected the strong odour of alcohol on his breath and noted physical signs of possible impairment. The driver was placed under arrest for impaired driving and transported to a local detachment for further testing.
53-year-old Daniel GALLANT of ERIN has been charged with Impaired Driving and Over 80 Mgs contrary to the Criminal Code. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on April 11, 2017 to answer to his charges.
His driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days as per statute.
