(MIDDLESEX COUNTY, ON) – On April 3, 2015 at approximately 1:43 a.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Highway Safety Division (HSD) were dispatched to a possible impaired driver on Highway 401 westbound, near Highbury Avenue, in the City of London, Ontario.
Police located the vehicle, a grey Dodge pickup truck, and initiated a traffic stop on the Highway 401 westbound off ramp at Exeter Road.
It was determined that the 49 year old male driver had been drinking alcohol. He was placed under arrest and transported to a Middlesex County OPP detachment for breath testing, which revealed he had consumed more than twice the legal limit of alcohol.
As a result of the investigation, Daniel BUCCI, from London, Ontario, has been charged with driving while ability impaired – motor vehicle (alcohol and drug), and driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
The accused was released from police custody by way of a Promise to Appear, and is scheduled to appear in a London court on May 12, 2015 to answer to the charges.
