(TOWN OF PENETANGUISHENE, ON) – On Friday February 26, 2016 at approximately 9:38 p.m. an off duty officer from the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested a male for impaired driving.
The officer, who was off duty at the time, came upon a motor vehicle into a snow bank and stopped to assist at the intersection of Fox Street and Brock Street in the Town of Penetanguishene. The officer spoke to the male driver and determined that he was under the influence of alcohol. The male was arrested for Care and Control of a motor vehicle while impaired.
The driver identified as Daniel Adam TOWNES (age 37) of Tiny Township has been charged with:
Care and Control of a Motor Vehicle While ability Impaired contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
Care and Control of a Motor Vehicle with More than 80 mgs. of Alcohol in Blood contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on March 10, 2016 in Midland, ON.
He was also served a 90 day Automatic driver’s Licence Suspension and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
