The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 115 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Five people were arrested.
Man Charged with Drug Possession CK15000966
Yesterday, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Intelligence Section made an arrest as part of an ongoing theft of prescription medications investigation from Rexall PharmaPlus in Wallaceburg.
The investigation surrounded the theft of fentanyl, oxycodone, hydromorphone and Ritalin. Narcotics were recovered and are being sent for analysis.
A 35-year old Windsor man has been charged with theft under $5000 x5, uttering a forged document x2 and drug possession x2.
He was released with several conditions pending a future court date of February 5, 2015.
Man Charged with Domestic Related Offences CK15000774
The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man in connection with a domestic disturbance in Chatham.
On January 9, 2015, the man and his girlfriend began arguing which escalated into a physical altercation as the man assaulted and threatened her. The woman was able to free herself and call for help. The man fled the residence prior to police arrival. Through investigation, the woman disclosed previous incidents of domestic abuse.
Last night, officers located the man on Richmond Street and he was taken into custody. The 27-year-old Chatham man has been charged with assault x4 and uttering threats. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Man Charged with Failing to Comply CK15001051
The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man for breaching his release conditions.
In June 2014, the man entered into a Probation Order with several conditions. One of those conditions stated that he was not to communicate with a specific Wallaceburg woman.
Last night, the man attended the woman’s residence and initiated an argument. The man fled the area when she indicated that she was calling police.
Officers located the man a short distance away. The 21-year-old Wallaceburg man has been charged with failing to comply with his Probation Order. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Break and Enter in Blenheim CK15001003
Sometime over the Christmas holidays, unknown suspect(s) cut the locks off a storage shed at St. Anne’s School on Snow Avenue. The suspect(s) stole two Toro snow blowers valued at approximately $2000.
