DAGG – Drunk Driving, Speeding

(CALLANDER, ON) –On April 3, 2016, at approximately 1:30 p.m.., a member of the North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on general patrol when she noticed a vehicle commit a traffic violation.

The vehicle was stopped on Callander Bay Drive, Callander, Ontario, and, upon further investigation, the driver, Brandon DAGG, age 34, of Corbeil, Ontario, was arrested and charged with:

Driving with More than 80 mgs. of Alcohol in Blood, contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code(CC)

Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero, contrary to section 44.1(3) of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA)

Speeding, contrary to section 128 HTA

The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on April 19, 2016.

The OPP is reminding motorists that there is no safe amount of alcohol or drug consumption when driving. Anyone who suspects a driver is operating a motor vehicle while impaired is urged to call police by dialing 9-1-1 immediately.
