Cyclist Killed In Collision Overnight

(NORWICH TOWNSHIP, ON.) – The Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was called to investigate a car versus cyclist collision on Highway 59 just outside Norwich.

On July 21, 2015 at approximately 9:30 p.m. police were called to the collision on Highway 59 between Quaker Street and Utility Line, just south of the Village of Norwich. The motor vehicle was northbound on Highway 59 and struck the cyclist which was travelling southbound in the northbound lane.

Oxford County EMS attended to assist. The adult male cyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene. The female driver of the motor vehicle was not injured.

The OPP Technical Traffic Investigation (TTCI) Team attended the scene to assist with the investigation.

The collision remains under investigation.
