Cyber Crime – McIndoo

The London Police Cyber Crime Unit received a complaint from a 17-year-old female reporting she had received inappropriate emails in response to an advertisement for employment she had placed on an internet web site. Further police investigation resulted in a search warrant being executed at a Marigold Street residence in the city of London on Friday, January 17, 2014. Michael McIndoo, 28 years, of London, was charged with telecommunication with person under or believed under 18 years for specific criminal offences, contrary to section 172.1(1)(a ) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

The London Police Service Cyber Crime Unit is encouraging anyone who has information, relating to anyone under 18 years of age who has received an inappropriate response after seeking an employment opportunity on a classified web site, to contact the London Police Service at 519-661-5670.

The London Police Service is a member of the Provincial Strategy to protect children from sexual abuse and exploitation on the internet. The Strategy has been made possible by a grant from the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services.
