Curtis LACOUNT – Drunk Driving Causing Bodily Harm X3

(LAKESHORE, ON)— On September 5, 2015, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Lakeshore was called to attend the scene of a vehicle fire on West Belle River Road.

The vehicle had been involved in a single motor vehicle collision with four occupants having been inside the vehicle at the time.

Essex Windsor Emergency Medical Service (EMS) as well as Lakeshore Fire Department responded to assist with the collision.

All four occupants were injured in the collision sustaining non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle was issued a blood demand while being treated at hospital for his injuries. Blood was taken and sent to the Center of Forensic Sciences (CFS) in Toronto for testing to determine his blood alcohol content.

As a result, the driver of the vehicle involved in the crash, Curtis LACOUNT, age 19 of Leamington, has been charged with the following offences:

Exceed 80 Milligrams Blood Alcohol Content

Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle Cause Bodily Harm x 3

Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle Cause Bodily Harm x 3

He will appear in a Windsor court on December 16, 2015 to answer to the charges.

The OPP would like to sincerely thank the citizens of Essex County for their ongoing efforts to assist police agencies in stopping drunk drivers. Police rely on the public to alert officers of suspected impaired drivers now, during the holiday season, and throughout the year.
