(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) – On December 6, 2014 at approximately 5:40 a.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call regarding a suspicious person on Fife Road near Whitelaw Road in Guelph-Eramosa Township. Further information was received that there was a Toyota Rav 4 in the north ditch just west of Whitelaw Road.
Officers attended the scene and a police query of the vehicle confirmed that it was stolen out of the City of Guelph. Police patrolled the area and located the male suspect a short distance away. The male falsely identified himself to the officers, however, investigation revealed his true identity and confirmed that he was wanted on an outstanding warrant by another police agency. The male attempted to run way from the officers and resisted arrest as he was being taken into custody.
A search of the suspect incident to arrest revealed numerous electronic devices as well as other items all of which were confirmed as stolen. A collapsible baton was also located during the search.
Further investigation revealed that the male was bound by a probation order at the time of his arrest.
Curtis HENRI age 20 of Penetanguishene has been charged with:
Fail to Comply with Probation Order x2 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
Possession of Property Obtained by a Crime Under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
Resist Peace Officer contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
Obstruct Peace Officer contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
Carry Concealed Weapon contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
He was held for a bail hearing to answer to the charges.
