(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – On Friday evening at approximately 9:30pm an officer from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a vehicle on Highway 35 near Pontypool to conduct an investigation.
The male driver, 25 year old Jesse CULLY of Little Britain, was subsequently arrested and charged with the following offences:
Driving While Ability Impaired by Alcohol contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC)
Driving with More than 80 mg of Alcohol in 100 ml of Blood contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the CCC
Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to section 172(1) of the Highway Traffic Act.
The accused will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on March 31, 2016.
On Saturday evening at approximately 7pm officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the OPP attended a two-vehicle collision on Highway 7A in the Bethany area. No injuries were reported in the collision. As a result of the investigation, Robert HUGHEY, 46 years old of Newmarket was arrested and charged with the following offences:
Driving While Ability Impaired by Alcohol contrary to section 253(1)(a) CCC
Driving with More than 80 mg of Alcohol in 100 ml of Blood contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the CCC
The accused will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on March 31, 2016.
