Crystal FLEWELLING – Drunk Driving

(CHIPPEWAS OF THE THAMES FIRST NATION, ON) – On August 22, 2016, at approximately 8:48 a.m., the Chippewas of the Thames First Nation Police, assisted by Oneida Nation of the Thames Police, and the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), responded to an incident involving a motor vehicle.

Officers attended a residential property on Switzer Drive, where it was reported that a 43-year-old female had driven a silver Dodge pickup truck towards an adult female who was on foot on the property. The adult female was not struck, but the vehicle crashed into an attached walkway on the home, and collapsed a railing.

It was determined the female driver had been drinking alcohol. She was placed under arrest, and resisted. She was apprehended, and transported to a Middlesex County OPP detachment for breath tests, which she refused.

As a result of the police investigation, Crystal FLEWELLING, from Munsee Delaware Nation, Ontario, has been charged with driving while ability impaired (alcohol), fail or refuse to provide sample 254(3), dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, assault with a weapon, and resist peace officer, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused was held in custody, and is scheduled to answer the charges in a London court on August 22, 2016.
