Crosswalk Guard Sent To Hospital After Being Struck By 77 Year Old Driver

On Wednesday January 28, 2015 at 3:38 PM a 77 year old Waterloo man was driving his 2002 Buick Regal motor vehicle northbound on Spadina Road in Kitchener. He attempted to make a left turn onto Queens Blvd and in doing so struck a 63 year old male crossing guard in the west crosswalk. The crossing guard was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the car was charged with failing to stop for the crossing guard under the Highway Traffic Act. The Waterloo Regional Police Traffic Branch is investigating.
