Incident: On May 5, 2015 at around 2:30 a.m. suspect(s) entered a fenced compound on Bruce Street and stole copper cable. Video surveillance which captured the theft is being reviewed. Stolen were five rolls of 150 foot lengths of copper cable.

Incident: On May 5, 2015 at around 2:30 p.m. a citizen telephoned the BPS to report a suspicious vehicle parked at the corner of Maitland and Sheridan Street. The passenger side window was smashed out and the ignition damaged. The vehicle, a 1991 Cutlass had been reported stolen from Grey Street overnight on May 4, 2015. Community Patrol officers canvassed the area and spoke to a citizen who witnessed a man park the stole vehicle on Maitland Street on May 5, around 4:00 a.m.. The suspect was described as a white man, heavy build, 5’11 in height, and 30 to 35 years of age with short hair. The suspect was observed walking away from the stolen car westbound on Sheridan Street.

Incident: On May 5, 2015 shortly before 5:00 p.m. a citizen telephoned BPS to report a parking complaint regarding a vehicle parked on Hunter Way. BPS attended and observed a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix parked on the road. The vehicle had been reported stolen to the BPS on April 29, 2015 from Daubigny Road. The vehicle was stolen sometime overnight on April 28, 2015. The vehicle was unlocked and keys left in the ignition when it was stolen. The vehicle was recovered.
Type: Traffic Stop – Radar Detector Seized

Incident: On May 5, 2015 at around 12:15 p.m. a BPS Traffic Officer on routine patrol in an unmarked vehicle observed a vehicle travelling north bound on Wayne Gretzky Parkway approaching Henry Street. The Officer observed in plain view a radar detector affixed to the windshield by a suction cup style mount. When the Officer pulled up beside the vehicle he observed the driver reach for the radar detector and remove it from the windshield. The Traffic Officer conducted a traffic stop with the driver and seized the electronic device. A 60 year old Etobicoke man is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with driving a motor vehicle that is equipped with and/or carrying a speed measuring warning device. The fine is $140.00 with an added $30.00 for victim surcharge, and three demerit points. (see below – actual seized electronic device)
