(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment investigated a collision at An Old Highway 24, Townsend, Norfolk County, Ontario, address.
On Friday, May 20, 2016 at approximately 11:17 p.m., OPP responded to a motor vehicle collision.
Through the course of investigation, it was determined that a vehicle being operated by a 29-year-old female of Norfolk County, Ontario was travelling southbound on Old Highway 24 when the driver had to avoid a large wooden crate that was located in the roadway. The driver pulled to the side of the roadway and exited their vehicle to remove the item. A second vehicle, being operated by 39-year-old female of Norfolk County, Ontario was also travelling southbound and had to take evasive action to avoid the object and ended up striking the parked vehicle. No injuries were sustained by either driver.
The owner or the vegetable crate returned shortly after the collision and it was determined that it fell off the back of a pickup truck. As a result, police have charged 37-year-old Nicholas ANTONIOLLO of Norfolk County, Ontario with insecure load contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
