(ST.MARYS, ON) Shortly after 1 a.m. on Tuesday October 25, 2011 Perth County OPP officers in St.Marys were informed of a collision at the “T†intersection at John St. South and Elgin St. East.
Officers located the lone vehicle which had been involved in the collision a short distance south of the scene. The involved vehicle, a Chrysler Intrepid was stopped with two flat tires.
Investigation revealed that the Chrysler traveling south bound on John St. South, crossed Elgin St. East and entered East Ward Park where it struck and destroyed two park benches. The vehicle continued driving south bound towards St.Marys District Collegiate and Vocational Institute and came to a stop on James St. South.
As a result of this collision a 45 year old male from Lucan has been charged with careless driving.
