(POWASSAN, ON) – On October 2, 2015, officers from the North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Crime Unit, Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) and Emergency Response Team (ERT) executed a search warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act at a location on Hunt Line, South Himsworth Township.
As a result of the search warrant, police located marihuana on the outdoor property in outbuildings and inside the residence. A total of 27 plants were seized along with numerous firearms. The street value of the marihuana seized is approximately $27,000.
Nicholas GIESLER, age 29 and Mandy STRANG, age 31 of South Himsworth Township, have been charged with the following offences:
Production of a Schedule II substance, section 7(1) Controlled Drugs and Substance Act (CDSA)
Possession of a Schedule II substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Under 3 kg., section 5(2) CDSA.
Both accused are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on November 26, 2015.
The investigation is still ongoing.
