(CHATHAM, ON) On December 8, 2016 at approximately 7:40 p.m., members of the Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a counterfeit money complainant at the westbound Dutton OnRoute Service Centre.
Officers were advised the suspects had left, in a Grey Buick Allure, travelling westbound on Highway 401. The vehicle was located and before officers could conduct a traffic stop, the vehicle had left the roadway, rolled over and came to rest on it roof. Four people were observed running from the vehicle.
With the support of the West Region Canine Unit, three males and one female were located and taken into custody.
Upon further investigation, 18-year-old Eysayah DAVIS of Etobicoke has been charged with the following criminal charges:
Possessing counterfeit money
Possession of a Controlled Substance – Cocaine
Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
Fail to Comply with a Recognizance x 3
19-year-old Mahad ABDI of no fixed address has been charged with the following criminal charges:
Possessing counterfeit money
Possession of Property Obtained by a Crime Over $5000
Possession of a Controlled Substance – Cocaine
20-year-old Ali TIFOW of Etobicoke has been charged with the following criminal charges:
Possessing counterfeit money
Possession of Property Obtained by a Crime Over $5000
Possession of a Controlled Substance – Cocaine
Possession of a Controlled Substance – Cannabis Marihuana
Fail to comply with a Recognizance x 2
All three have been held for a bail hearing.
