(WHITESTONE TWP, ON) – On Sunday July 29, 2018 at approximately 10:15p.m, members of the West Parry Sound Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on patrol on Highway 124 when they stopped a vehicle for a Highway Traffic Act violation.
Police spoke to the driver and subsequently arrested and charged Coty LEAVITT, 28 of Whitestone Township with the following offences:
Driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood, contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code (CC)
Insecure load, contrary to section 111(2) of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA)
No red light on rear of trailer, contrary to section 62(24) HTA
Draw trailer, no plate, contrary to section 7(4)(b) HTA
Drive without proper rear light – motor vehicle, contrary to section 62(1) HTA
Driving while under suspension, contrary to section 53(1) HTA
Driving motor vehicle with unsealed container of liquor, contrary to section 32(1) Liquor Licence Act (LLA)
The accused was released from police custody and is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday August 30, 2018 in Parry Sound Ontario.
