Correction – TWO MALES CHARGED FOLLOWING DRUG WARRANT – Value of drugs is $100,000

(Bancroft, Ontario) – On Friday, November 29, 2013, officers from the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau-Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU), OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), OPP Explosive Disposal Unit (EDU) and members of the Bancroft OPP executed a Controlled Drug and Substance Act (CDSA) search warrant at a property on McGarry Road in The Municipality of Hastings Highlands.

As a result, police seized 40 marihuana plants, 9.7 kilograms of Cannabis Marihuana, 10 grams of Cannabis Resin (hashish), 4 Improvised Explosive Devices (IED), numerous firearms and other offence related property. The potential street value of the seized drugs is approximately $100,000. (NOTE: Value of drugs is not as previously indicated.)

A 19 year old male from Maynooth, Ontario and a 19 year old male from Toronto, Ontario have been arrested and charged with production of marihuana, possession of marihuana for the purpose of trafficking and multiple firearm offences. The 2 males were held for Bail Hearing on November 29, 2013 at the Ontario Court of Justice, Belleville.

The investigation is continuing and further charges are pending.
