(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – The Crime Unit of the City of Kawartha Lakes (CKL) detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested and charged a local man as a result of an historical sexual assault investigation. The incidents have been reported to have occurred between 1984 and 1990 both within the Town of Lindsay and rural areas in the City of Kawartha Lakes.
As a result of this investigation, 50 year old Dennis COPPINS of Lindsay, has been arrested this morning and held for a bail hearing. He has been charged with over 30 charges relating to five victims. The charges include: Sexual Assault, Sexual Interference, Invitation to Sexual Touching, Sexual Assault with a Weapon, and Uttering Threats all contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
