Construction Tools and Equipment Taken From Barn

(MUNICIPALITY OF GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) – On Friday, December 12, 2014, at approximately 11:50 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a break, enter and theft from a barn on Grey Rd. 31 in the Municipality of Grey Highlands wherein a number of construction tools and equipment were stolen.

Sometime between 5:00 p.m. on Monday, December 8th, and 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 10th, unknown person(s) entered an insecure barn on the property and removed the following items: Husqvarna gas trimmer, 2 Husqvarna chainsaws, 2 safety helmets with face guards, 2 pairs of Kevlar lined safety pants, a chop saw, Mastercraft 5 hp air compressor, Mastercraft cordless drill, saws all, air hammer and guns; TSC 7500 watt generator, a laser with stick and tripod stand; a Stihl cut off saw, a Honda gas water pump and electric water pump, as well as other miscellaneous items.

The total value of the stolen property was estimated to be $12,000 – $13,000.

Police continue to investigate.

The OPP urge the public to contact police to report any suspicious person(s), vehicle(s) or activities and remind home and business owners to secure their homes and other buildings in an effort to prevent break-ins and thefts from occurring.
