Consented Fight Leads To Charges For Repeat Offender

(CHATSWORTH, ON) – On September 14, 2019 at 10:33 a.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a disturbance on Hwy 10 near Holland Centre, Township of Chatsworth. Three people were observed in a physical altercation. Officers attended the scene and two of the three involved people had left in a vehicle prior to police arrival.

Grey Bruce OPP officers stopped the vehicle, a (blue) car with two occupants. During the investigation the disturbance was determined to be a consented fight between two males, with no injuries.

The vehicle passenger was arrested by OPP officers for personation with intent after they provided a false name.

24 year old, Eric BROWN of no fixed address has been charged with the following offences:

Personation with intent to avoid arrest, prosecution or obstruct justice, section 403(1)(d) Criminal Code of Canada (CC)

Obstruct Peace Officer, section 129(a) CC

4 counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order, section 733.1(1) CC

The accused was held for a bail hearing.

The 18 year old driver was charged with class G1 licence holder – unaccompanied by qualified driver, section 340/94 5(1) Ontario Regulations, Highway Traffic Act.
