(CITY OF GUELPH, ON) – On December 20, 2014 at approximately 2:38 a.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management Unit (TMU) were conducting R.I.D.E. spot checks on Highway 6 at College Avenue in the City of Guelph.
Officers investigated the driver of a 2005 Dodge Caravan that entered into the spot check and immediately detected the odour of strong alcohol on the driver’s breath. A Road Side Screening Device test was conducted which resulted in a fail.
The driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days as per statute.
Connor FARRELL age 21 of Oakville has been charged with Over 80 Mgs contrary to the Criminal Code and Young Driver BAC Above Zero contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on January 27, 2015 to answer to the charges.
