(Embrun, ON) On August 13, 2013 OPP constable responded to a traffic complaint on ST-Guillaume Road in Embrun. A witness reported following a vehicle that was swerving from one lane to the other and at one point failed to obey a stop sign. The OPP located the vehicle and stopped it. The officer spoke to driver and noticed a strong smell of an illegal substance. The vehicle was searched and officers came upon a concealed weapon. A police baton was found in vehicle.
Robert PAQUETTE, 30 years old of Ottawa will have to appear in L’Original court September 18, 2013 to answer to the following charges:
CDSA 4(1) Possession Schedule I – Cocaine
CDSA 4(1) Possession Schedule II Cannabis Marihuana – under 30grams
CC 117.01(1) Possession of Firearm, etc., while Prohibited
CC 90 Carrying concealed weapon
