(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – On August 23, 2016, at approximately 6:24 p.m., the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a motor vehicle collision (MVC).
A grey Hyundai car was travelling southbound on Adelaide Street North, and collided in the intersection with a black Toyota sport utility vehicle (SUV), which was travelling westbound on Ilderton Road. Adelaide Street North is governed by stop signs.
The driver and lone occupant of the car, a 79-year-old male from London, Ontario, was transported with serious injuries by ambulance to hospital, where he remains listed in critical condition.
Two of the six occupants of the SUV, a 16-year-old female from Bluewater, Ontario, and a 45-year-old female from Strathroy-Caradoc, Ontario, were transported with non-life threatening injuries to hospital. They have both been discharged.
The intersection was closed for the investigation, but has since been re-opened.
This incident remains under investigation.
