Collision Sends Five To Hospital – Two Children Injured

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) – On Thursday July 07, 2016, shortly before midnight, Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer were dispatched to Perth Line 43, between Road 102 and 104 in response to a two vehicle head-on collision.

Investigation revealed that a Honda CRV travelling westbound in the westbound lane on Perth Line 43 was struck head-on by an eastbound Honda Civic.

The driver of the CRV, a 36-year-old male from Goderich sustained minimal injuries. The 34-year-old female passenger of the CRV as well as the 5 and 7 year old female passengers sustained minor injuries. The lone 21-year-old female occupant of the Civic, a Waterloo resident, sustained major injuries. All 5 involved persons were transported by Perth County EMS to a local hospital. The driver of the Civic was later transported to a London hospital for treatment.

Road and weather conditions were good at the time of the incident.

The Perth County OPP is continuing their investigation into the cause of this collision.
