(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) Shortly before 4 p.m. on Tuesday December 20, 2011 Perth County OPP officers were dispatched to a two vehicle crash at the main intersection of Shakespeare.
A Volkswagen Rabbit, operated by a 58 year old London male, was driving west bound on Hwy 7/8. The Rabbit proceeded to turn south onto Perth Road 107 directly in the path of an eastbound pickup truck. The pickup truck, which was being operated by a 52 year old Kitchener male, had been proceeding through the intersection on a green light. The impact did not cause injuries but resulted in moderate damage to both vehicles. The driver of the Volkswagen has been charged with “left turn – fail to afford reasonable opportunity to avoid collisionâ€Â.
