Collision – One Pronounced Dead at Scene

(LAMBTON, ON) – On Friday September 30th, 2016 just before 2:00 p.m., the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was dispatched to a serious two vehicle, motor vehicle collision on Nauvoo Road, Warwick Township.

Lambton County OPP along with Lambton County Emergency Medical Service (EMS) and Warwick Township Fire Department responded to a location on Nauvoo Road between Brick Yard Line and Birnam Line. Upon arrival, responders observed a pickup truck along the west shoulder of Nauvoo Road and a 4 door sedan in the center of the roadway. Both vehicles had sustained significant damage as a result of the collision. The male driver of the pickup was transported to hospital by EMS with serious injuries. However the male driver of the sedan was pronounced dead on the scene. Identification of the deceased is being withheld until notification can be made to the family.

Investigation is on-going at this time. The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators have been requested and are on scene. Nauvoo Road will be closed between Brick Yard Line and Birnam Line until approximately 8:00 p.m. Members of the public are asked to avoid this area during this time.
