(THAMES CENTRE, ON) -On September 12, 2014 at approximately 4:40 a.m. Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), fire and ambulance crews responded to a two-vehicle collision involving transport trucks on Highway 401 eastbound lanes just east of Westchester Bourne in the Municipality of Thames Centre.
There were fluids spilled on the highway as a result of the collision and efforts are currently underway to clean them of the surface of the road. As a result, police closed the Westchester Bourne on-ramp to Highway 401 eastbound and two lanes of the highway as they clean up the debris.
One driver was transported to hospital with minor injuries.
Motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes to their destination as delays are expected. Roads are expected to reopen within the hour.
The investigation continues and charges are pending in this matter.
