COLLISION ON FIRST STREET IN COLLINGWOOD

(COLLINGWOOD, ONTARIO) Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended a collision scene yesterday evening on First Street in Collingwood.

At approximately 5:00pm on the 21st of July 2014, OPP officers along with Simcoe County Paramedics and Collingwood Fire Department were dispatched to a collision on First Street near Elm Street involving two vehicles. Investigation revealed that a Nissan SUV made a left turn from First Street with the intention of going into the Wendy’s restaurant parking lot. Traffic had stopped for the inner lane of First Street however while crossing the two other lanes, the Nissan SUV went into the path of an oncoming vehicle which collided with the Nissan and in the process, flipped the Nissan onto its roof.

The two occupants of the Nissan SUV suffered minor injuries and were transported to an area hospital. The occupants of the other vehicle did not suffer injuries. Investigation is ongoing at this time.
