Collision Involving School Bus – One Extricated

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) –On January 26, 2015 at approximately 3:55 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were called to investigate a motor vehicle collision involving a school bus and a 2011 Chevrolet pickup truck on Wellington Road 30 west of Highway 6, Guelph-Eramosa Township.

The investigation revealed that the pickup truck failed to stop in time, striking the rear of a school bus that had stopped to drop off children. The six students on the bus were not injured; however the two drivers suffered minor injuries. Guelph Fire Department attended the scene and extricated the female driver of the pickup truck. Guelph –Wellington Emergency Medical Services transported her to a local hospital.

Marsha MURPHY age 36 of Grand Valley is charged with Careless Driving contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
