COLLISION INVOLVING POLICE CRUISER

(BLANDFORD BLENHEIM TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a collision involving an Oxford County OPP cruiser. The collision occurred at approximately 7:30 a.m. this morning on Highway 401 westbound near Highway 2.

Shortly after 7:00 a.m. this morning, the officer responded to a multiple vehicle collision in the westbound lanes on the highway. The officer had arrived at the scene and was sitting in the parked cruiser when a westbound pickup truck struck the cruiser from behind.

Only minor injuries were reported. The investigation is continuing.

The highway will remain closed for at least another hour for crews to be able to remove the cars from the earlier collision as well as the second collision involving the OPP cruiser.
