Collision In Minto – One Airlifted To Hospital

(TOWN OF MINTO, ON) – On January 26, 2016 at approximately 11:40 a.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call regarding a serious collision involving two Sport Utility Vehicles (SUV) on Wellington Road 109 near the 6th Line, Town of Minto.

Officers responded along with Guelph-Wellington Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Town of Minto Fire Department and Wellington County Roads. A woman was the lone occupant of a Volkswagen and was brought to a local hospital with serious injuries. She has now been airlifted to a Hamilton Hospital. A man was the lone occupant of a Ford and was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. The names will not be released until next of kin have been notified.

The cause of the collision is currently being investigated by Wellington County OPP Traffic Collision Investigators (TCI). Wellington Road 109 remains closed between the 5th Line and Wellington Road 5, Town of Minto.
