Collision – Highway 61 & Chippewa Road

(THUNDER BAY, ON) On Monday, July 6, 2015 at approximately 8:42 am, officers from the Thunder Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Superior North EMS responded to a two vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 61 and Chippewa Road.

The driver of a south bound Saturn attempted to make a left turn onto Chippewa Road from Highway 61, when that driver collided with the driver of a north bound GMC Sierra.

The driver of the Saturn was transported to hospital by ambulance with non life threatening injuries. The driver of the GMC Sierra did not report any injuries.

Both vehicles sustained extensive damage.

The 52 year old female driver of the Saturn was charged with Turn Not in Safety contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and Fail to Have Insurance Card contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.
