(Asphodel-Norwood Township, ON) – Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and emergency crews were called to Highway 7 between Peterborough County Road 38 and the 3rd Line of Asphodel just after 11:30am this morning.
An eastbound silver Buick crossed the centre line and came into collision with a westbound red Toyota. The Toyota careened into the north ditch and rolled onto its roof. The driver of the Toyota was extracted by Asphodel-Norwood Fire Service and loaded into a waiting ambulance. Both the driver and the passenger were taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC) with minor injuries.
The silver Buick continued eastbound until it collided with a guard rail. The driver and lone occupant of the Buick were checked over by paramedics but declined treatment at the hospital.
Highway 7 was reopened just after 12:30pm. Peterborough County OPP continues to investigate.
