Collision – Careless Driving Charge Laid

(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On April 30, 2015, just after 9:00 a.m., Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a collision involving two vehicles on Highway 40, on the Highway 401 overpass.

The collision occurred when a northbound Ford Focus was stopped on the overpass to turn onto the westbound onramp of Highway 401, and was struck from the rear by a northbound Dodge Neon.

The three occupants in the Dodge were uninjured. The two occupants of the Ford were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the Dodge, 25 year old Patricia GIRARDIN, from Chatham, has been charged with Careless Driving, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

The three occupants in the Dodge reported no injuries. The two occupants of the Ford were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Highway 40 was closed in the area of the collision for a short duration, and has since reopened.
